    Triethanolamine(TEA)

Carbomer neutralizer, PH adjuster, Incremental agen

Triethanolamine (TEA), diethanolamine (DEA) and ethanolamine are clear, colorless, thick liquids that smell like ammonia. In cosmetics and personal care products, triethanolamine can be used in some makeup products, such as eyeliner, mascara, eye shadow, blusher, makeup base and foundation, as well as perfumes, hair care products, salts, wave sets (products for making waves on the head), shaving products, sunscreen, skincare and cleansing products. Ethanolamine may be used in some permanent waves and salts and pigments. Diethanolamine itself is rarely used in cosmetics, but the derivatives of DEA are the ingredients used in shampoo and cleansing products.

    PURPOSE

    • Ingredients used as ph adjusters, emulsifiers, and flavouring agents, which are more viscous than water.
    • Although it appeared as a substitute for glycerol during World War II, it was recognized that its solubility was superior to that of glycerol, preventing the growth of fungi and not being fermented. Used as a water-based mating or as a main solvent for substances that do not dissolve well in water.

    CHARACTERISTICS

    • Alkaneolamine component.
    • Triethanolamine (TEA) contains diethanolamine and monoethanolamine.

    EFFICACY

    • Conditioning hair.
    • Helps maintain moisture in the skin.
    • Use for PH control of cosmetics.
    • Used to mix cosmetics with other ingredients.
    • Small molecular weight makes it easier to penetrate effective ingredients into the skin.

[EWG ratings] The Skin Deep ingredient hazard score, from 1 to 10, reflects known and suspected hazards linked to the ingredients.
